New recipe! New practice to add to the day! I’ve got the best of Ayurveda in a mug with this Chai-Spiced Turmeric Latte. Some surprise ingredients make it a great way to savor a quiet moment for myself, especially during a time of so much unrest happening in this world, this country, and in our personal lives. This plant-based latte is infused with Element Truffles’ Chai-Spiced Vegan Protein Powder, and is bursting with the rich flavors and health benefits of organic cacao, ashwagandha, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and black pepper.
The powder works great in this yummy latte, which calms my nerves (!), bolsters my immune system, and boosts my mental focus, but can also be stirred or blended into overnight oats, yogurt, or baked goods like brownies.
What is Ayurveda all about?
Ayurveda (life) + Veda (knowledge) focuses on inner and outer well-being through balancing elements in the body. Here’s the recipe:
1 mug full of unsweetened almond milk
1 heaping tablespoon of Elements Truffles’ Chai-Spiced Vegan Protein Powder
½ to 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
¼ to ½ teaspoon ground ginger
½ fresh or frozen banana
½ to 1 tablespoon almond butter
Heat the almond milk over medium heat. Add the protein powder, turmeric, and ginger. Whisk until thoroughly combined. Once warmed, remove from heat and add to a high speed blender. Add the banana and almond butter, and blend until thoroughly combined. Taste and, if needed, add additional spices, banana or almond butter. Take a moment to savor in a quiet place for a few minutes.
